East Coast Truckers 37th Convoy Day: A Day to Remember at Joyland
Yesterday marked the 37th annual East Coast Truckers Convoy, a spectacular event that brought joy, excitement, and a sense of community to the heart of Great Yarmouth and the rest of the county. This event, which supports disabled and disadvantaged children, is always a highlight on our calendar here at Joyland, and this year was no exception.
The day kicked off with the iconic convoy of trucks leaving from Norwich and heading to Pleasurewood Hills for a day of fun and laughter, a sight that never fails to amaze. The sound of honking horns, the vibrant colors of the decorated trucks, and the smiling faces of the children riding along were enough to warm anyone’s heart. We had our convoy roadshow on at Joyland Plaza, where the festivities truly began.
With some trucks parked up, our plaza came alive with activities. Classic and American cars from the local Car Club’s lined Anchor Gardens, their gleaming exteriors catching the sunlight and the admiration of all who passed by. The stage was set for live performances, with local talent like Leon Mallet taking center stage, keeping the energy high throughout the day. Snooze Parot another local band took the stage in the afteroon and Lowrider keep the rock and roll going after the convoy passed. Our DJ kept the beats rolling, creating a festive atmosphere that perfectly matched the excitement in the air.
Visitors enjoyed a range of activities, from browsing the merchandise stalls to trying their luck at the tombola. Our outside bar was buzzing, and the Joyland Diner patio was packed with people soaking up the bank holiday sun, enjoying a bite to eat, and watching the day unfold. We are so glad the weather held out as previous years have not!
We want to extend a huge thank you to all the hardworking volunteers at East Coast Truckers for organizing such a fantastic event. Your dedication to this cause is truly inspiring, and we are honored to support this charity year after year. A big shoutout also goes to our Joyland and Joyland Diner teams, the live acts and DJs who kept the vibe going, the car enthusiasts who displayed their stunning vehicles, and, of course, everyone who came down to join us.
The East Coast Truckers Convoy is more than just a parade of trucks; it’s a day filled with love, laughter, and a shared commitment to supporting those in need. We’re proud to be part of something so special, and we look forward to continuing our support for this wonderful cause in the years to come.
